RRB CEN Application Compliance Checklist
Make sure your uploaded files conform to these checks before final submission on the Railway recruitment portal:

Why is the Railway RRB photo size range (30KB - 70KB) different from SSC? ▾
Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) mandate a minimum file size of 30.0 KB and a maximum of 70.0 KB to ensure higher image resolution for biometric verification during computer-based tests (CBT). If your photo is below 30 KB, the RRB portal will reject it with an 'Invalid File Size' error.
What is the exact signature size required for RRB ALP, NTPC, and Group D? ▾
RRB notifications require candidate signatures to measure 35 mm × 15 mm (approximately 350 × 150 pixels) with a file size strictly between 15.0 KB and 30.0 KB in JPG/JPEG format. Signatures under 15.0 KB are systematically rejected.
Can I use a photograph with a blue or colored background for RRB? ▾
No. Railway Recruitment Boards strictly instruct candidates that the photograph must have a clear, plain white background. Colored, dark, or textured backgrounds lead to application disqualification.
How recent must the Railway exam photograph be? ▾
The photograph must be a recent passport-style color photograph taken within the last 6 months. It must clearly represent your current physical appearance, facial hair, and hairstyle for verification at examination centers.
Does Railway RRB allow wearing spectacles in the application photo? ▾
The official RRB notification recommends taking photographs without spectacles. If you must wear prescription glasses, ensure there is zero glare/reflection from camera flash and that your eyes are 100% visible.
